I don't know how
many times I've driven past this incredible restaurant. It is in
an unassuming little cabin off the side of Hwy 115. I'd never even
heard of it until my fiancée and her family took me there one day
for the all you can eat fried chicken. The food was sooo sooo
good! Chicken, okra, biscuits, apple butter, mashed potatoes,
gravy. Dang.

This place is
incredible. i love it. We were treated so well, above and beyond,
and the food couldn't get better. Loved it and will go back many
times to come! Bring cash or check!

Amazing,
amazing, amazing! This place knocks the socks off just about
anywhere else you can go for good, home-cooked, meals, served
family style, with everything made from scratch. In business since
1951, they haven't changed their menu since then and I have to
tell you, I haven't had fried chicken that good since my mother
became too old to cook in 1980. Every single item had us raving;
the kids don't like food ANYWHERE and they couldn't get enough.
It's a beautiful 17 mile ride south of Colorado Springs on the
road to Canon City and it's a quaint adobe building....but believe
me, it's a magic castle! They set the standard for home cooking!

The first time I
ever ate at Juniper Valley Ranch was in the early 60s. My
grandmother would take me there after church once in a while. It
was wonderful then and has not changed one bit. More than great
food, it's the atmosphere. Once you go it will become a special
tradition. Plan on taking your time to enjoy it.

Want to have a
great meal like grandma used to make? Well, step back in time and
head to Juniper Valley Ranch. Real homemade cooking that is simply
delicious! There's only two things on the menu, but you can't go
wrong with either selection! We had the fried chicken (small
spring chicken that is oh so tender), with all the fixin's. They
start you off with an appetizer (curry consommé or cherry cider).
I had the delicious refreshing cider, hubby had the soup, both
excellent. Then they bring out heaping plates of chicken, riced
potatoes, gravy, okra casserole, cole slaw, homemade biscuits and
the best apple butter I have ever had. This is not your ordinary
fare! The coleslaw is quite different with an apple taste to it,
and even though I am not an okra fan, the casserole is absolutely
wonderful with its blend of veggies. Top everything off with a
dessert, and I was raving for days about our wonderful meal! The
atmosphere is delightful very quaint old rustic farmhouse. I
absolutely love it! A must-do if you are in the area!
